I never thought I would play another RTS until Starcraft 2 came out, but here I am, playing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, and two of its expansions. The game is actually pretty good, except for the mission cutscenes, which are animated rather mediocre.
The picture above is what I got, the Platinum Edition set, which contains the aforementioned game and two expansions all on one disc, and it only cost me 30 bucks. There is another expansion out that I don't have, but at 40 bucks, I think I'll wait on that one until it drops to 20.
The game has a lot of different races and tech to play with. It's very complicated because of all of the options you have. At least resources are as simple as Starcraft, as you only have two. Your main resource (Requisition) is obtained by taking control of checkpoints around the map and holding them. The other resource (Energy) is easily obtained by building generators.
So yeah, I got conned back into the RTS genre with this game. I just thought I would mention it in case anyone else might be interested.
